A hand from poker history. Daniel Negreanu | | Brad Booth |

A rare straight flush is a difficult hand to play. You don't want to
scare your opponent, but you want to get maximum value. Brad "Yukon"
Booth managed to pick up a straight flush on High Stakes Poker, but was
met with a good read from Daniel Negreanu.
Booth held 9d 8d, and Negreanu picked up Qh 9s. The flop came down 10d
Jd 4c, which gave Booth an open-ended straight flush draw. Negreanu
called his bet, and the turn came down the Qd. This gave Booth his
straight flush, and Negreanu top pair with an open-ended straight draw.
A dangerous turn for Negreanu.
The pot was $34,000, and the 8h on the river gave Negreanu his
straight. As first to act, he bet $16,000 and Booth immediately raised
$30,000 more. Negreanu instantly put Booth on a flush, and said he had
a straight. Returning the favour, Booth openly said he had a straight
flush. Mike Matusow found this hilarious, and Booth said it was simply
a Canadian thing - "We're honest with each other."
Negreanu made the correct laydown, and Booth raked in a nice pot with a practically unbeatable hand.
